New Jersey will soon require Uber & Lyft and other ride-sharing drivers to have signs, QR Codes & placards on their vehicles to protect passengers safety.

The New Jersey DMV Board approved of this law earlier in October. The law will require drivers to have a lighted or reflecting sign on both the front and back of the vehicle showing the company name, along with a QR code and placard on both of the sides of the car. Violators can be fined and lose their New Jersey permit.

If the driver is driving into New Jersey, they must also obey this law. Ride share vehicles that bring passengers into the state from out of state are exempt.
